There have been a number of serious blockages of the pump which removes the sewage from the Millbank site and transfers it to the main sewer. You know when it’s blocked because of the flashing amber light on the pump station at north end of car park. These blockages are potentially dangerous: they could lead to effluent backing up into individual flats. They are also expensive to fix. They are caused by residents pouring cooking fat into the sink or using the toilet to dispose of items which should be recycled or put into waste bins. Please help Millbank by taking care over how you dispose of your waste materials.
